Like many women, I had struggled with my weight nearly all of my adult life. At my heaviest I was a UK size 22. I'd either lose weight and would put it all on again or i'd lose the OOMPH to carry on with my mission to lose it. It wasn't until I started my studies to become a counsellor that I found out who I truly was and what made me tick when it came to my eating. For as long as I can remember, I've had an interest in psychology and disordered eating. So it seemed only natural for me to focus my career in the field of weight management. I've now worked as a Transformation Coach for over 10 years and in 2017 qualified as a Life Coach. As you can imagine, in that time, I've worked with thousands of women. Supporting them through a transition of weight loss and leading them through to weight management.
What makes me the right person to help you?
As a qualified weight management counsellor, I am able to use counselling theories to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Whilst I can't give you the answers, I can certainly help to guide you so you find them yourself. Firstly those who work with me on a 1:1 basis ditch their diet and concentrate more on their inner selves. They look to change their behaviours then notice their eating naturally changes as they make more informed choices.
I use the following theories to support my clients
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Transactional Analysis (TA)
Neuro Linguistic Programming
Whilst it's all good and well me quoting the techniques I use to help my clients, not everyone has heard of them so as a coach, when working with you, I use a plain English approach. I won't bamboozle you with terminology but I will invite you to take a deeper look into yourself so you can better understand those behaviours that may be leading you to make inappropriate choices around food.
What sets me apart from other coaches is the fact that I have been there. I truly do get what it's like to be stuck in a cycle of emotional eating, that endless yo-yo dieting that we seem to endure and I have come out the other end so there really can be a stop to this! Whilst I can't personally walk in your shoes, I do have an understanding of what you are going through and based on my own personal experiences of 'over-eating', 'binge eating' what ever you want to call it eating, I CAN help and I do WANT to help you make changes.
NOT QUITE READY TO commit? then DIP YOUR TOES IN
If you aren't quite ready to commit to 1:1 sessions with me just yet, then why not dip your toes in? What I mean by that is that there's so many solutions available to help you before you make a full commiment on a 1:1 basis with me.
